Equine and Canine Sports Massage Therapy

Regular body work can lead to the continued health and well being of your equine and canine companions. Sports massage therapy is useful for performance enhancement, rehabilitation, and maintenance because it:

  • improves circulation and, as a result, promotes healing

  • enhances muscle tone

  • increases range of motion

  • eases muscle spasms

  • relieves tension

  • reduces inflammation and swelling in the joints, thereby relieving pain

  • stimulates circulation in the lymphatic system

  • speeds up the elimination of toxins

  • lengthens connective tissues, breaking down and preventing the formation of adhesions and reducing the danger of fibrosis

  • generally improves the disposition of the animal

Light Therapy

Light Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that works to promote healing and control pain with little to no side effects. We offer a combination of red light near infrared light treatments.

Light Therapy works because body tissue can absorb the light at a cellular level. The light then accelerates activity in the mitochondria (the part of tissue cells that takes in nutrients and break them down into energy) and increases blood flow to the treatment areas, thus aiding in healing and relieving pain.

Animals benefit from the treatment because it:

  • Reduces pain and swelling

  • Increases lymphatic activity

  • Strengthens the immune system

  • Accelerates cell regeneration

  • Increases circulation

  • Relaxes muscles

  • Increases anti-viral properties

  • Encourages collagen production

  • Regulates serotonin levels
